Jerry Goldsmith, Leonard Rosenman, Tom Scott – Planet of The Apes (Original Film Series Soundtrack Collection) - remastered editions

In collaboration with Varèse Sarabande, La-La Land Records enlisted this box set’s co-producer, Mike Matessino to restore, mix and meticulously re-master these important film scores composed by Jerry Goldsmith (THE OMEN, STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE, ALIEN), Leonard Rosenman (EAST OF EDEN, STAR TREK IV: THE VOYAGE HOME, FANTASTIC VOYAGE) and Tom Scott (UPTOWN SATURDAY NIGHT, STIR CRAZY, THE SURE THING).

Produced by Matessino and Neil S. Bulk, executive produced for 20th Century Fox by Nick Redman and executive produced for Varèse Sarabande by Cary Mansfield and Bryon Davis, this deluxe set was restored and remastered from original studio vault elements, resulting in improved sound worthy of the great Caesar! The original 1968 PLANET OF THE APES album presentation is also included, upgraded sonically by way of this restoration.

Lorne Balfe – His Dark Materials (The Musical Anthology Of)

Originally from Inverness, Scotland, Lorne Balfe’s love of music and writing was evident from an early age.

His childhood home had a residential recording studio where the likes of Ozzy Osbourne and Inner Circle would record.

As early as eight years-old, Lorne began writing and selling his composed “jingles” for advertisements, and at the age of thirteen he auditioned to be a percussionist with the Edinburgh Symphony Orchestra, becoming their youngest member, and travelled around Scotland with them professionally. It became clear to Lorne that he wanted to become a film composer and in his late teens he started writing letters to other composers in the hope of an opportunity. It was then he decided to move to the U.S., and soon his exceptional career took off.

He has consistently received accolades for his musical compositions. Lorne has worked with many of the most prestigious directors in the industry including Christopher Nolan, Ron Howard, Michael Bay, Cate Shortland, Ang Lee, Christophe Waltz, Jerry Bruckheimer, Sean Baker, and Chris McKay

Tracks From Soundtracks Vol.6: A Global Journey (A Soundtrack Heaven original compilation)

The cinema is a place that can take us on a journey, an adventure, sometimes to far away and exotic places that we know little about. For this selection I have chosen music from films that, for those of us in the western world, are referred to as "foreign" or "international". The compositions are haunting, minimal, exquisite, but always beautifully engaging, a treat for the sonic imagination. Think of yourself in a hot air balloon and you are an explorer going "around the world in 25 tracks"!

Cowboy Bebop - original soundtracks series - music by Yoko Kanno & The Seatbelts

Cowboy Bebop is a Japanese neo-noir space Western anime television series that aired on TV Tokyo and Wowow from 1998 to 1999. The series, which ran for twenty-six episodes (dubbed "sessions"), is set in the year 2071, and follows the lives of a traveling bounty-hunting crew aboard a spaceship, the Bebop. Although it incorporates a wide variety of genres, the series draws most heavily from science fiction, Western, and noir films. It explores themes such as existential boredom, loneliness, and the inability to escape one's past.

The music for Cowboy Bebop was composed by Yoko Kanno and primarily comprises jazz, along with western and opera. Kanno formed the blues and jazz band Seatbelts to perform the music. According to Kanno, the music was one of the first aspects to begin production, before most of the characters, story, or animation had been finalized.
