Our Little Corner Of The World (Music From Gilmore Girls) - various artists

Our Little Corner of the World: Music from Gilmore Girls is a 2002 soundtrack release from Rhino Records for The WB's Gilmore Girls. The album is a combination of selections from the score composed by Sam Phillips and the music of other musicians heard, mostly, during the first two seasons of the show. Also included on the album is the new version of "Where You Lead" by Carole King and her daughter Louise Goffin, a snippet of which serves as the theme song for the show.

In her review of the album, Heather Phares of Allmusic said, "Our Little Corner of the World is almost too good to be true, and one of the best television soundtracks released in recent memory." Noel Holston of the Long Island, New York newspaper Newsday found that for the selection of rock-pop songs, "It's not appreciably better than the new Scrubs CD or the 1999 companion to Felicity" however with the interspersed compositions from Sam Philips, "It knits together like a bright teen's daydream." Mary Jacobi of The Village Voice noted that, "Many tunes recall Rory's early romance with the reliable Dean and the confusion inspired by his bad-boy rival, Jess." Jacobi concluded by noting that, "The Palladinos remember the first kiss, and they know how important it is to get the music right this time."

Frank Zappa's 200 Motels (1971) - original MGM motion picture soundtrack

200 Motels is a 1971 surrealist musical film written and directed by Frank Zappa and Tony Palmer, and featuring music by Zappa and The Mothers of Invention. An international co-production of United States and the United Kingdom, the film stars the Mothers of Invention, Theodore Bikel, Keith Moon and Ringo Starr. The film attempts to portray the craziness of life on the road as a rock musician, and as such consists of a series of unconnected nonsense vignettes interspersed with concert footage of the Mothers of Invention.

Original LP liner notes:

This music is not in the same order as in the movie. Some of this music is in the movie. Some of this music is not in the movie. Some of the music that's in the movie is not in the album. Some of the music that was written for the movie is not in the movie or the album. All of this music was written for the movie, over a period of 4 years. Most of it (60%) was written in motels while touring. The rest of it was either done at home or in our rented flat in London, just prior to shooting. The OVERTURE is a cosmeticized version of one of the themes from "A HOLIDAY IN BERLIN, FULL BLOW"... and WOULD YOU LIKE A SNACK? is a vocal version of the same theme. Some of the situations described in the song texts are real. Some of them are not real. You decide.

The Music Of David Lynch - Benefiting The David Lynch Foundation

David Keith Lynch (January 20, 1946 – January 15, 2025) was an American filmmaker, visual artist, musician, and actor. Often called a "visionary" and acclaimed for films distinguished by their surrealist and experimental qualities, Lynch is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential filmmakers in the history of cinema. In a career spanning more than five decades, he received numerous accolades, including the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at the Venice Film Festival in 2006 and an Academy Honorary Award in 2019.

Produced in conjunction with Lynch, Beyond the Beyond: Music from the Films of David Lynch explores the use of music and sound in Lynch's films, as well as his own original music, and draws on the director's personal archives of photographs and ephemera from Eraserhead onward.
