Fritz Lang, Gottfried Huppertz, Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, Frank Strobel – Metropolis: The Complete Motion Picture Score

In 2010, Gottfried Huppertz' original film composition for Metropolis was newly recorded for the presentation of the restored version of the film. The orchestra performed the music in synchronization with the film. During post-production, the synchronization was further refined and optimized during the music editing process: the timing of certain passages was adjusted and musical transitions and pauses aligned to the moving image in correspondence to the numerous synchronization points already marked in the score to achieve a precise timing and the aspired interaction between the music and the film. In preparation for the issue of the complete music for Metropolis, film-oriented gaps were closed, musical transitions cut appropriately and the music mixed in close consultation with Maestro Frank Strobel.

Ryuichi Sakamoto – Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence / Furyo

Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence, also known as Furyo (俘虜, Prisoner of War), is a 1983 war film co-written and directed by Nagisa Ōshima, co-written by Paul Mayersberg, and produced by Jeremy Thomas. The film is based on the experiences of Sir Laurens van der Post (portrayed by Tom Conti as Lt. Col. John Lawrence) as a prisoner of war in Java (Japanese-occupied Dutch East Indies) during World War II, as depicted in his books The Seed and the Sower (1963) and The Night of the New Moon (1970). It stars David Bowie, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Takeshi Kitano and Jack Thompson; Sakamoto also composed and played the musical score including the vocal version of the main theme "Forbidden Colours", with lyrics written and sung by David Sylvian.

The soundtrack from the film was released on 1 May 1983 in Japan and towards the end of August 1983 in the UK. It was composed by Ryuichi Sakamoto, who also starred in the film. It was Sakamoto's first film score, though it was released several weeks after the film Daijōbu, My Friend, for which he also composed the music.

Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, the film has since become a cult classic, largely due to its soundtrack. For the film's soundtrack, Sakamoto won the 1984 BAFTA Award for Best Film Music as well as the 1984 Mainichi Film Award for Best Film Score. David Sylvian contributed lyrics and vocals on "Forbidden Colours", a vocal version of the main theme, "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence", both of which were released as singles.

Masked And Anonymous: Music From The Motion Picture

Masked and Anonymous is a 2003 drama film directed by Larry Charles. The film was written by Larry Charles and Bob Dylan, the latter under the pseudonym "Rene Fontaine".

An iconic rock legend, Jack Fate, is bailed out of prison to perform a one-man benefit concert for a decaying future North American society. The film touches on many subjects, from the futility of politics to the confusion of loosely strung government conspiracies, to the chaos created by both anarchy and Nineteen Eighty-Four-styled totalitarianism. It further reflects on life, dreams, and God's place in a seemingly increasingly chaotic world.

Fate makes it clear that he "was always a singer and maybe no more than that". He produces no solutions to any of the problems the film presents. Rather, he clarifies that he "stopped trying to figure everything out a long time ago".

Don Julian – Savage - Super Soul Soundtrack (1973)

Savage! is a 1973 American-Philippines action film with elements of blaxploitation. It was produced and directed by Cirio H. Santiago who, between 1973 and his death in 2008, partnered with Corman on over 40 Philippines-based action-adventure exploitation films which took advantage of much lower local production costs.

The title role is played by top-billed James Iglehart, a criminal on the run who gets involved in a revolution against a military government. It co-stars Lada Edmund, Jr. and Carol Speed. As in most such productions of the 1970s and 1980s, the setting is not identified as the Philippines, but rather an unspecified Latin American location ruled by a military-based authoritarian regime.

The soundtrack is by Don Julian, an American rhythm and blues, funk and soul singer, guitarist and songwriter, most famous for his work as an R&B singer in the 1950's and 1960's.
