Cowboy Bebop - original soundtracks series - music by Yoko Kanno & The Seatbelts

Cowboy Bebop is a Japanese neo-noir space Western anime television series that aired on TV Tokyo and Wowow from 1998 to 1999. The series, which ran for twenty-six episodes (dubbed "sessions"), is set in the year 2071, and follows the lives of a traveling bounty-hunting crew aboard a spaceship, the Bebop. Although it incorporates a wide variety of genres, the series draws most heavily from science fiction, Western, and noir films. It explores themes such as existential boredom, loneliness, and the inability to escape one's past.

The music for Cowboy Bebop was composed by Yoko Kanno and primarily comprises jazz, along with western and opera. Kanno formed the blues and jazz band Seatbelts to perform the music. According to Kanno, the music was one of the first aspects to begin production, before most of the characters, story, or animation had been finalized.

RoboCop (The Series) is a 1994 cyberpunk television series based on the RoboCop franchise. It stars Richard Eden as the title character. Made to appeal primarily to children and young teenagers, it lacks the graphic violence of the original film RoboCop and its sequel RoboCop 2 and is more in line with the tone of RoboCop 3.

True Detective...Music from the HBO Series..produced by T-Bone Burnett

This album release was produced by T-Bone Burnett and encompasses 14 tracks from Season 1 and Season 2 of the critically acclaimed series. Artists include Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Nick Cave & Warren Ellis, Lera Lynn and Cassandra Wilson.

Here's one review from Amazon....

"There's something dark and creepy and beautifully moving about this album—fears instilled, faded hopes remembered. Many of the songs feel influenced by sixties-style folk music and Cash-like country, with the exception of the gospel blues-tinged “Sign of the Judgment,” the more modern sounding “Risk,” and the gravelly, conversational “Nevermind.” Feeling at once rusty and new, the tracks that Lera Lynn composed for the show, especially “My Least Favorite Life,” are particularly haunting. As with any good mix, variation is present but not extreme as a vein of a mourning and reflection on death—physical or that of ruined relationships and dreams—threads throughout. An excellent background for an afternoon spent alone, sifting through old belongings and photographs, or driving on the open highway." (By thegreenleaf26 on August 14, 2015)

The Truth And The Light: Music From The X-Files (Television Series)

This collection of crisp electronic music mixed with bits of character dialogue will well please X-Files fans; those unfamiliar with the long-running sci-fi show have a chance to discover just how well an intensely eerie television score can stand on its own. Soundtrack master Mark Snow has done other scores for TV, but the X-Files is his most outstanding work. Right off the bat this album transports you into the world of agents Mulder and Scully and the supernatural or extraterrestrial mysteries they uncover. The haunting, melodious whistle theme; the slow-moving walls of melancholy electronica; the ominous, urgent rhythms written for action scenes all recall the dark, spooky atmosphere that the X-Files program has so expertly created and maintained. There's also an ocean of dialogue to explore here, which for some may be distracting, but for others will bring back the suspenseful and sometimes horrific images from particular episodes. Overall, the dialogue is presented in a subdued enough way that it doesn't stand out oddly and oftentimes just reinforces the creepy intrigue that is the show's most wonderful quality. Recommended. ----(Karen Karleski ..Amazon.com)

A River Somewhere..original music from the ABC travel series by Liam Bradley

Music from the TV series by Australian composer and musician Liam Bradley. A hauntingly beautiful and exquisite soundtrack that matches the magic and serenity of the locations in the series. Gentle guitars, violin, banjo, harmonica and piano combine to make this most enjoyable and pleasant to listen to.
